BetterCompany Interview is a safe place for job candidates to ask questions about a potential employer to current employees selected by the company. We never share information with employers that lets them know who you are or what questions you ask or answer. By creating a safe and reliable platform we provide a place for honest answers and pair people with their perfect jobs.
Our service provides several ways to interact with the site.
Recruiters suggest potential employees or "Candidates," who create accounts on Honest Interview. Using the Service, Candidates are able to pose questions to current employees.
Employers select verified employees or "Advocates" to answer questions on behalf of the company.
Employers, including supervisors, have "Administrative" accounts and can choose to control or limit questions in order to keep conversations productive. However they do not have access to who is posting questions.
BetterCompany Interview provides insights to employers based on aggregated data on employee sentiment and can surface conversations that are particularly relevant or interesting to candidates. None of these features will reveal your identity to your employer or future employer.
Based on your own contributions to conversations, it may be possible for your coworkers or other users to figure out who you are. For example, if you provide personal information, travel plans, or recount a widely known personal experience, other users may be able to infer your identity. BetterCompany Interview cannot be held responsible for your disclosures that identify you to others on the platform.
When you join you may also choose to submit additional information about yourself such as your recruiting status. By default, you can’t change the information you submit, but if you switch jobs or companies, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can update your profile for you.
We collect information about how you engage with the platform, including how often you participate, questions you ask or answers you provide, and your preferences.
We collect a standard set of information about the way you use the Service, including the type of device you use, your device ID, and your IP address, from which we can derive your general location.
Analytics and cookie data
We use standard developer tools and analytics cookies, including Mixpanel, to help us understand how people use the Service and to market advertisements to you based on your activity on our website.
There are limited circumstances when we may need to share information. This section outlines those rare instances.
We may disclose or preserve for future disclosure your information if we believe that doing so is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms of service or to comply with a law, regulation, or valid legal process. We require a warrant based on probable cause before disclosing content in criminal cases. If we have information that allows us to contact you, we will do our best to provide you with advance notice by SMS to the phone number associated with your account before disclosing your information to law enforcement unless prohibited from doing so by law or court order (e.g., an order under 18 U.S.C § 2705(b)).
We share your information with service providers to provide services such as analytics, hosting, and content delivery, and text messaging. These service providers only use your information to provide us with the specific service, and each is contractually obligated to protect the privacy and security of your information.
Deidentified or Aggregated Date
We may share aggregated and de-identified user data with employers and other interested customers in the form of analytics or other tools designed to help supervisors, recruiters, Candidates, and Advocates gain meaningful insights. De-identified data is data that cannot reasonably be linked back to an individual person.
The security and privacy of your data is a priority to us. We use industry-standard security practices to protect the data we have collected from you. At the same time, please understand that no security system is perfect and completely secure.
In the event you want to delete your BetterCompany Interview account, please contact us.
No. BetterCompany Interview is for working adults. The Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we possess information collected from children under 13, we will move quickly to delete it.
If we modify our privacy practices and this policy, we will notify you on the BetterCompany Interview website before the changes become effective. If the changes materially affect your rights under this policy, we will provide notice to you by SMS, if you have authorized us to communicate with you via SMS.
